Reading this post made me shed a tear! An outrageous act from a 9 year old boy.
Sharing it with you!
Repost from Fraisen

Last night, I was sent to a little grammar school to help a charity organization distribute food to the refugees. It was a long line that snaked this way and that and I saw a little boy around 9 years old. He was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts.

It was getting very cold and the boy was at the very end of the line. I was worried that by the time his turn came there wouldn't be any food left. So I spoke to him. He said he was at school when the earthquake happened. His father worked nearby and was driving to the school. The boy was on the third floor balcony when he saw the tsunami sweep his father's car away.

I asked him about his mother. He said his house is right by the beach and that his mother and little sister probably didn't make it. He turned his head and wiped his tears when I asked about his relatives.

The boy was shivering so I took off my police jacket and put it on him. That's when my bag of food ration fell out. I picked it up and gave it to him. "When it comes to your turn, they might run out of food. So here's my portion. I already ate. Why don't you eat it?"

The boy took my food and bowed. I thought he would eat it right away, but he didn't. He took the bag of food, went up to where the line ended and put it where all the food was waiting to be distributed.

I was shocked. I asked him why he didn't eat it and instead added it to the food pile. He answered: "Because I see a lot more people hungrier than I am. If I put it there, then they will distribute the food equally."

When I heard that I turned away so that people wouldn't see me cry.

A society that can produce a 9-year-old who understands the concept of sacrifice for the greater good must be a great society, a great people.

Well, a few lines to send you and your family my warm wishes. The hours of my shift have begun again.

Craving for Razon's Halo-Halo

It's a hot summer weather here now and I can't help but crave for Razon's Halo-Halo. Sadly, there's no branch yet here in my hometown.
RAZON's has only 3 main ingredients unlike some popular food chains Halo-Halo, minatamis na saging, macapuno and leche flan. But believe me, it's realllllly good. The very fine shaved ice & creamy milk completes the delectable taste of this all time favorite Pinoy dessert.

Oh! How I missed you Razon's! Three hours away from here ang nearest branch nila but guess what I found this:

Recipe for Razon’s Halo-Halo:
Ingredients:
2 tbsp saba bananas in syrup
2 tbsp sweetened macapuno
1×2″ leche flan (custard) strips, cooked with lemon rind
1/3 cup evaporated milk
2 tbsp caramel syrup (arnibal)
shaved ice
Procedure:
In a tall glass, put the ingredients in the following order:
macapuno, caramel syrup, saba bananas, shaved ice,
leche flan strips. Drench with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Serve immediately.
Let's try it! Kain tayo!

Few hours in Singapore

From Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia nag-side trip kami ng Singapore kasi sayang naman yung trip. Anyway 4 hours lang naman ang byahe via bus. From our hotel, we rode a taxi going to KL Sentral, Old Railway Station, dito yung terminal ng NICE Bus. Nice is not so nice. hehehe! :) Typical bus lang din siya pero pwede na. I saw AEROLINE & FIRST COACH, mas updated yung mga bus nila and looks very comfortable & luxurious talaga.

Lounge of Nice, RM55 ang fare to Singapore
free snack, movie, pillow & blanket

stop-over for lunch
eto yung aeroline
We stayed from a friend's place in Geylang! Kallang Mtr Station yung pinakamalapit na station. From there we went to Bugis to buy some souvenirs and then we headed to Vivo City na for our Sentosa & Universal Studios visit.

**Sa SINGAPORE IMMIGRATION, lahat kami interview portion talaga. As in the IO asked if san ba daw ako stay, may enough money ba daw to sustain my stay in Singapore. Answer honestly lang and everything will be ok naman. Tinatakan din agad passport ko but I have to claim it sa office nila kasi may fingerprint scanning pa na nangyari dun. Mahigpit sila sa mga Filipinos. I asked one of the IO's there and they said ganun daw tlga sila ka-strict ngaun kasi marami daw Filipino na nagti-TNT sa Singapore. Just be ready with your return ticket, hotel voucher & everything that will prove na legitimate tourist ka talaga.
**Just like HK, ok na ok ang transportation in Singapore, tourist-friendly.
**Hindi ko masyado type ang ugali nila, sa KL kasi very accomodating mga tao dun eh sa Singapore parang may discrimination talaga.
**At night, masarap mag-stay along Marina Bay Sands. Buhay na buhay ang place until wee hours in the morning. Makansutra @ Glutton Bay serves good & affordable meals.

Another Day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Me and my sister Sherrie arrived in NAIA 3 at around 3:30PM of March 10, 2010. We were bound to Kuala Lumpur later that night via Cebu Pacific Flight 5J501. We checked in right away kasi there are counters open na that time for all international flights. We paid travel tax PHP1,620 and also terminal fee PHP750. We had dinner muna @ Yellow Cab.

We had Charlie Chan & Spicy Chicken Wings
Waiting for our flight
We boarded at exactly 8:25PM and arrived in Kuala Lumpur Low Cost Carrier Terminal at around 12:25AM of March 11, 2011. Ang ganda ng flight, tulog ako the whole time kaya nakapag-pahinga.

DAY 1: March 11,2011
3:00AM: Check in @Sky Hotel Kuala Lumpur, No.1A, Jalan Bintang, 55100, Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. Newly built ito and nice kasi hanggang 5th floor lang. Highly recommended. Room rates for weekdays is RM170. You can contact them @http://skyhotel.com.my/skyhotel-contact.html.
9:00AM: We had breakfast sa hotel. Their Nasi Lemak was ok lng.

10:00AM: We went to Petronas Twin Towers. We paid RM10 per head. Before, walang fee pero now they charge 10 ringgit na.

11:30AM: From KLCC station, we headed to Putra Gombak Station papunta ng Genting Highlands.
Walang rides that time kasi umuulan. So we stayed na lng at the Indoor Theme Park. The kids will enjoy it. Definitely, isasama ko sila on my next trip.

6:00PM: We went back na to KLCC & had dinner @ Nando's. I read from http://pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157906&page=167 na must try daw tlga ang chicken sa nando's. I agree, yummy ang chicken & the sauce is really good too.
9:00PM: We strolled along Bintang Walk. Went to BB Plaza, Pavillion, Lot 10. Magkakatabi lang kasi yan. And madadaanan on our way back to hotel.
Bought some Chocolates, Coffee & Teh Tahrik!
Wide range of coffee & tea @ GIANT, SOGO & COLD STORAGE.

DAY 2: MARCH 12, 2011
8:00AM: Breakfast @ Hotel
9:30AM:  Went to HOP ON HOP OFF ticketing outlet along Bukit Bintang. Visit their website to know more about their tour package. http://www.myhoponhopoff.com/
Hop On Hop Off Tour

Ramly Burger is soo yummy! It's a must try. :)
Day 3. We went to Singapore. I am going to make a separate blog of my Singapore trip.
Last Day: We went to Putrajaya, since malapit na lng sya sa KLCCT, dun na kami nagpalipas ng oras.

Ang tunay ng finger lickin' good, KFC in Malaysia

I'm about to sleep na!

Overall, the trip went ok. But sobrang nakakapagod, mahirap mag-travel na naghahabol ng oras.
Reminders:
*Dont go to Genting pag umuulan kasi walang rides sa outdoor park.
*Change your money sa Bukit Bintang, nagkalat ang money changers dun and maganda ang rate nila.
**Philippine peso has a good exchange rate in Malaysia.
*Yung late night flight ng Cebu Pacific, makakahabol pang sumakay ng Star Shuttle direct to hotel, basta kailangan mabilis ang kilos mo lalo na sa lines sa immigration.
*Prepare your return ticket kasi medyo strict sila ngaun especially with ladies travelling alone.
*Bring umbrella, you will need it.
